Charming Driver writes one of my favorite blogs. I stumbled over her space around three years ago, right after she’d lost her baby boy Jackson. Today would have been Jackson’s third birthday. His mother writes about it.
Ehren’s in-utero name was Jackson for a few months, to be named, partly, for Q’s father, but then stuff happened then more stuff happened, plus I’d always planned on calling Charming to ask her how she’d feel about it, and by the time it was almost time, Charming was in the middle of looking for oncologists to treat her 90 forms of cancer and staph infections and, well, I thought maybe I wouldn’t bother her about it, so Ehren it was.
As a PTSD survivalist, I consider each night we go to bed breathing and every morning we get up still breathing a very good day indeed. If you’ve been reading me a while, you knew that already. Tomorrow is Ehren’s 184th good day and six-month birthday. We’ll celebrate by being thankful for Jordan’s 5,376th and JA’s 3,001st. My own 15,181 days have been touch-and-go, but aren’t they all?
