traveling for the holiday in a 17-mi. radius

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It occurred to me last night as I was falling into a restless sleep that I was concentrating so hard on finding a simpler way to prepare sweet potatoes that I forgot my annual dish is actually candied yams made from sweet potatoes.

Which are so unhealthful. I’ve used more than two pounds of butter and sugar and we were shoveling it in. This year, it was 1/4 c butter and 1/4 c brown sugar used as a coating instead of a saturating pre-heart attack diabetes onset. Much better, much more healthful, and everyone liked them. They could even taste the potatoes. That was new.

Thanks! You’ve also reminded me to email it to each parent.
