Beginning the first non-holiday Friday of the new year, there will be a new feature here at the fringe. When I first started blogging in 2006, my friend Flood Vax had a very popular post on Fridays that summed up the happenings on her favorite blogs. At first, we all used it to discover new blogs, but after a while, vanity took over and we looked forward to that post only to find if our week-in-blog had gotten a mention. As if more than 20 people read our blogs, but you couldn’t tell us we weren’t Internet superstars.
I’d like to start that list here in this space. I read way more blogs posts than I write, and now that I’ve lost my blog aggregator to corporate greed (as I reserve a special hate for Google Reader), I’ve decided to share that content here at the fringe.
I plan to link to whatever interests me in the seconds before I start posting, so don’t let the eccentricity of it all alarm you in any way. Until then, and just for kicks, let’s link to the blogs that have entered my December theme giveway contest. I’m gonna end the contest early—December 30 instead of letting it run for 30 days from the initial blog post. That way, I can better remember the end of each contest, which will coincide with Ehren’s month-a-versary as he starts walking then packing for college.
@TruAnaGoncalves from Expressive World is a networking queen. She’s participating in something called a blog chain, and I wonder if leather collars are included or if they are BYOLC.
@MRTmum is Tracy of Stories of a Single Mum. Stop by and wish her well as she learns to care for herself as well as three kiddies and a newborn baby without her husband.
@Miss_Scarlett99 is Carrie of the Rogozinski Clan. She won her office holiday cubicle decorating contest!
@shakenmama is Erica, my coolest California blogging friend. If she promises to move off Blogger immediately, I’ll send her the template of her choice by midnight. Blogspot makes my butt hurt.
Dave Thackeray tweets as @wordandmouth and runs a communications agency in Liverpool, or so says his Web site. He could be billionaire Bruce Wayne for all we know.
Scott is @prgully and runs ScottGulbransen.com. He is living the dream as an Intuit social media manager. If he wins the theme giveaway, perhaps he can stop the Quicken spam in my gmail. That’d be real nice.
Did I miss anybody? There are 10 days left in the contest as of this writing. If you’re not already following me @hmx5, get on it, right? So you’ll be ready for January. Twelve months, 12 chances to win.
Enjoy your Christmahanukwanzaakah…

Brilliant idea!

Thank you for the mention.
I shall look forward in discovering the other blogs.
