this weekend reminds of when I spent all my money on a wallet then had nothing to put in the wallet

I want to say I spent 72 hours learning and practicing the delicate art of coding this weekend here on my humble Web log.

I think it started when Michele discovered improv, and as I was reading her excited updates on Facebook, I thought to myself: I could use something like that to do. Except Michele’s new thing gets her out of the house and amongst the peoples. Coding for 72 hours straight got me bedsores and a bigger psychotherapy bill for my kids’ multiple sessions. Although it will surely be one of their memories of me, I don’t want their most vibrant being one of my lazing around in the same Orlando Magic t-shirt for three days while eating a container of Golden Oreos and downing a half liter of Firefly sweet tea vodka in the midst of figuring out .php syntax errors.

Remember those books I bought a few months ago? Finally cracked the spine on the CS4 tutorial. I created logo images in Fireworks, dabbled in CSS in Dreamweaver and modified jpegs in Photoshop. There are so many moreĀ  things I want to build or change in this template, but for now, enough is enough. Quick question: is it loading very very slowly for you, or is it just me?

After spending all my time in this space, I really have nothing left to say in it. How about this: is it really 2010? The king is dead, long live the king, eh?

Checking out my new duds with a non-critical eye in comments…

The new design is much easier to read than your in-between blue-water design. Also, it loaded fine. Nice work!

Thank you thank you thank you! That blue water theme was intriguing, but I could never get the font size to increase. This theme, called Vintage Rainbow, was actually my first choice, but I didn’t think I could, well, anyway, here we all are. I’ll keep practicing!

It loaded up superfast for me, and my jealousy leaked all over it. Sorry about that. Lysol wipes.

I added a super cache plug in a few hours ago. Holy hell, what a difference in speed. Check your email.
