Found out today in a routine eye exam that Jordan is now completely blind in her left eye.
The scar tissue from her original brain injury is gone, but the optical nerve connecting her brain to the eye has finally degenerated into desuetude. Uselessness. Nothingness.
She’s been telling me for a year she couldn’t see out of that eye. I didn’t exactly blow her off, I thought she meant peripherally, which I knew. It was a blow to hear from the doctor she cannot process either light or shadow.
I have a biohazardous kitchen to clean and laundry to do before the start of Paycheck Lent, so I’d better get a move on.
