Paycheck Eve, no, it’s more like paycheck Lent

Because it’s not like I’m getting paid tomorrow.

Tomorrow begins the waiting period, called work, before the big day, called payday. There really is no such thing as Payday Gras for obvious reasons.

As anxious as I was about effing up my saliva test, I am one thousand times more anxious about the incompetency of the lab techs who processed my blood sample. Don’t let me jinx the process with the gory details, but, wow, they had no idea what they were doing. Reading and rereading packing instructions and tossing full vials of my bodily fluids aside as they were looking for the blue kit, red kit, blue box, red box. I couldn’t look away and I refused to leave until I read the packing instructions myself, making sure it was properly prepared for shipping back to the registry. After seven vials of blood and no sugar cookie, I wasn’t gonna take that test again because of two Keystone techs. Plus, hello, saving a life here.

Ehren is adjusting well to the new daycare. I love my babycam free trial and would consider the monthly $25 charge after the two-week period is up if Ehren wouldn’t keep wandering off-camera. If I were running this parental anxiety scam, I’d have nine cameras up in that beoyotch with a soundtrack. Every parent would gladly pay 50 bucks a month to watch the baby all day from her cubicle. I know I would.

Hey, did you know JA has a Black History Month presentation due sometime this month? Yeah, neither did I. I found a reminder in his backpack, and he has no idea what the project is. I emailed the teacher for his assigned historic figure, and if it’s g-d Harriet Tubman, I will go all Amistad on somebody. Have we not done anything worthwhile since the 19th century? Read tomorrow for mutiny updates.

Never thought I’d say this, but: I’m sending Jordan to summer camp! JA is going to one, too, in Missouri, but he’s going with a friend of mine and her family. Jordan I’m putting on a plane or driving to drop her off by herself for a week. We are researching two special needs camps. Her first choice is in California. She likes the 1:1 counselor to camper ratio. That one has a lottery. Forty spots for 100 applicants. Her second choice is in Illinois with a 3:1 ratio and costs twice as much as the first one. Mojo for Choice #1, please!

The first money I ever earned? My mom used to pay me $.25 if I would be quiet for an half hour. Yeah, I was THAT kid.

    Happy Paycheck Eve!
