It had been a while since I’d lost an entire post in WordPress.
I used to chalk it up to the cybergods keeping me silent on whatever topic I was writing about that day. I now know it’s a WordPress 3.0 bug combined with the usual effeduppedness of being hosted by Go Daddy. I’m looking for a new host if you have any suggestions. Oops, there’s that grammatical error again. Even if you don’t have any suggestions, I’m still looking for a new host.
Anyway, I really don’t feel like replicating the lost post no matter how informative and funny it may have been. I’ll revisit the topics eventually. For now, I will sum up.
iOS4 for iPhone launched on Monday! Lots of great new features, including folders for grouped apps so I no longer have five homepages, locking the screen rotation so the phone won’t go into landscape mode when I’m laying in bed playing games, and double-clicking the home button to access recent apps. I also like having separate images for my homepage and locked screen page. Until Q and I find iPhone 4 under our pillows, the new OS will do nicely.
It’s Day 16 of the 90-day writing challenge. I’m still at it, Michele’s still at it, Christine is having more fun than anybody. You should totally go for it.
Ehren’s home and crankier than ever, which is why I’ve been missing from the blog. I’m reteaching him to sleep in his crib, getting very little sleep myself. He is also hitting people to get what he wants when asking nicely would produce the same result. At 15 months, he’s headed toward full-blown toddler, making baby Jon Alex—my previously most challenging child—look like my sweet baby girl Jordan wrapped in a Dreamsicle.
I remembered last night what I used to tell Jon Alex: soft touches. “Soft touches” in my most soothing mommy voice, then I’d take his hand and touch softly my battered face. Surprisingly, that’s working just as well with Ehren, so we’ll start right there to break this new hitting habit. Instead of my first instinct of knocking him out with a sedative.
Countdown to kids’ camp but who’s counting: 8 days.
The search for better customer service in comments…

My name is Nolan and I am official iPhone hater…mainly because I sold my soul to Sprint, but then again, I only pay 10$ a month per line for my family too, but at least I have the iPod touch and look forward to the folders to use with that…maybe if you borrow one of those “hotshots” Kevin talked about in his blog, you can catch Ehren’s attention about the hitting!
With each of my boys, if I exchange pain for pain, that’s a fight they are excited to start. Sweet hearts locked in wrestlers’ bodies.
The iPod touch is close enough, especially since iPhone doesn’t like to make phone calls. Enjoy the new iOS!
I can’t help with any new host suggestions because my blog is at Squarespace. Not that it isn’t nice and everything for only $14 a month, but now that I’m so far in, I can’t just up and move very easily to another platform with an independent host. Sigh. that was a lot of nonsense right there…did it go anywhere?
Thank you for the shout-out! I am having fun, it’s true. I just have a suspicion that it won’t last for 90 days. I’m shooting for at least 30:) and after that who knows.
I skipped yesterday in the challenge. The key might be to go at your own pace. I’m loving your stories, though. I hope you keep going.
lots of *sighs* in this one– lost post, hitting toddler, no sleep, posting everyday! sigh, sigh and one more sigh! as always, love glimpses into your thoughts and sending good thoughts!
The hitting is abating and he is getting reacquainted with his crib. Thanks for the good thoughts!
My kids are at camp this week. Thus the painting!
My plan is to get some sleep.
