Eight Tapped for Ambassador of the Year Award

Sometimes. It is Monday, you know.

Christine has gifted me with an award for blogging. Which is like getting an award for ordering a Sprite at the drive-thru window—not necessarily something you get everyday, yet kind of bewildering when you do.

I am honorably accepting the award mainly because I’m in love with Chris and secondly because you wouldn’t have seen me today had she not given me something to write about. You can thank her later.

I’m supposed to hand out the award to seven other bloggers while listing seven little bits about myself. Holy cow. Passing on the award handing-out part. I just don’t feel like linking to the seven readers who already know their beauty. You’re beautiful, okay? Yes, yes, I love you, too.

The seven bits: argh. What do you not already know about me? Lessee…

  • I am not a morning person. Please do not talk to me before 10 a.m. or expect a coherent answer until after lunch. In a better world, my work hours would be from 11 a.m. ’til 4 p.m., picking it up again from 9 p.m. until midnight. Cubicles by nature work against this.
  • I like peaches, but absolutely hate anything made from peaches: pie, candy, ice cream, soda, juice. Keep all fruit away from my ice cream and cake, please.
  • I haven’t cooked a meal since going back to work full-time. That’s more than four months. Ehren, much like Jordan when she was his age, is positively delighted by the dinging of the microwave.
  • I am independent out of necessity, not from want. I am made for hand servants.
  • My team Traveling Motor Kings had been in lowly 10th place the entire fantasy season and, over the weekend, moved firmly into eighth. Relatedly, I hate slumping Mark Teixeira on sight. Loves me some power-hitting Josh Hamilton. Q’s team, named Inappropriate Hugs and filled with no-name scrubs, in is first.
  • I’ve not worn makeup to work in nearly a week. I’m boycotting some type of unidentified protocol, I think.
  • In lieu of the lifestyle that would afford me some hand servants, the Chick-fil-A chicken burrito breakfast is my new favorite morning luxury.

[UPDATED WITH STORY] These blog awards remind me of the of the Day award that made the rounds rather prestigiously a few years ago. I found out by checking my trackback links that I’d won one, but I refused to display the award because it didn’t match my blog layout. Turns out, my new supercrush and eventual husband had nominated me and when he read my reason for not displaying it, designed a whole new award for my sidebar. Okay, enough sappy nostalgia…

Feeling beautiful, wanted and loved in comments…

What an awesome way to start the week. Congratulations on this prestigious award. Will it match the decor in your new living room? And are we counting down the days until the bus leaves for summer camp?

5 more days for the older ones, 6 for Ehren’s return to north Texas. The closer it gets, the more Xanax I think I’ll need. First time away from family for both Jordan and JA. Hold me then pass the cocktails!

OMG, are you saying you will be sans children? Time for a road trip to Massachusetts, where I shall ply you with my many friends named Mike, Jack, and José. :)

Haha! Q was sooo trying to get in your pants, you know that right?

Thanks for accepting the award. You made me laugh w/the Sprite & drive-thru comparison…that was perfect.

I am a morning person, up before 6 everyday. It sucks out loud. I think once M moves out that might change and I’ll sleep in until at least 7. We shall see. And I’m sort of hit & miss with the make-up thing. I just hate that it takes 2 days to get all the mascara off.

I love that you play fantasy baseball! I never knew. Your 7 were way more interesting than mine…Awesome.

Aw, man, was that only to have sex with me? I never recognize the signs until it’s too late.

Oh blogging awards. They’re as old as my blogger template.

I have nothing interesting to say, so I just came by to offer an air kiss.
