I hope this is the good bacteria

The poor dog was the one left behind in the week’s activities.

She has outgrown her crate and can’t be trusted inside, so she spends her days tearing up the backyard.

I wanted to get her a companion pet, but that’s kinda up there with having another baby just to entertain the one you already have. She got a tennis ball instead.

Ehren loves dogs. If he visits you, he will search your house calling out for one. He once steadied his walk with someone’s wheelchair at the ballpark on his way to greet a hound dog pup.

What do I make of this nastiness of the puppy/baby French kiss? I try not to think about it. I do heartily endorse swooping in during the embrace and separating them. But sometimes I take pictures first.

It’s been raining here for a week. The kids chose the best time to get out of town.

Upcoming weekend family reunions in comments…

Gah! I taught my dog to ‘air’ kiss b/c that’s the only kind I accept. I do know there’s a lot of people that love puppy breath…but it just gags me.
My mom’s dog, on the other had, likes to french. I mostly get away without getting my teeth brushed, but it’s only because I spend a ton of time reminding her “No Licky! No Licky!” Too bad she’s dense.

Yay for weekend family reunions! Ours were always joyous for the first few hours:)

Nobody else but Ehren sticks his face close enough to the dog for that nonsense. Because Samantha is 80 lbs and likes to knock over the baby, they are rarely in the same space unless the dog is crated. I’ll have to figure out that air kiss trick!

You are so right about getting a companion pet being the same as another baby to entertain the one you already have. We just did it but the problem is the old dog won’t play ball! We haven’t died from dog germs yet thankfully and I can’t reunion with my family because they won’t leave. Every last one of them moved away when they were young got homesick and moved back: )

It’s nice that you let them all come back home. I want my kids to feel forever welcome wherever I may be.
