normality is overrated, isn’t it, Monday?

What goes through the heads on Monday mornings of anal sticks-in-the mud?

The people who never run out of gas, never allowing the needle below the halfway mark. Those who don’t know why anyone would need overdraft protection.  Whose inner voices are rational, congenial and polite. On Monday mornings, it is a simple: let’s do this? Without the panic and anxiety of the rest of us? Okay, okay, of the rest of me?

One week down of the month left of my contract. I’ve sent resumes to people who might be able to help me. If they feel like it, I guess. I’m sure they have 500 similar resumes in their inboxes. There is a small and marginalized voice living amongst the others that would like me to go to work today instead of heading to an unpaid gig at a Houston television station to promote the Chevy Moms program. I have no idea what to wear and even less of an idea of what to do with the missing chunk of my paycheck.

If I’m lucky, I’ve woken up in a romantic comedy, and today begins the day of unbelievable after an opening sequence of rotten events. Fulfilling career, perfect kids, goofy but good-hearted husband, a condo on the harbor with a winter home on the slopes. I see that Julia Roberts is now starring in yet another film of hopelessness redeemed, so I know it can happen.

Whatever you want in comments, I gotta go get dressed…

You never know where the day is going to take you, right? Just maybe you’ll be discovered and get a paid gig at the tv station. You should definitely wear red today.

    You are awesome:)

I wore a pink and greenish tank top under a pink button-up cotton shirt. Today was the pre-taping, Thursday, we go live. Thanks for the awesome sauce.

I’m just a little nervous about my depleted paycheck so close to the contract ending. I’m sure this will be a good thing.

Ummm….When is being on tv a bad thing? Never. You might mention you need a job in your car promo and get headhunted right there.

Also, why did I think you were in CA? Hmmmm….I was just in Houston on the 6th. Of course, I only had an hour layover and 20 gates to walk. But, we could’ve squeezed in a Margarita chica.

Aw, man, if you were at Hobby (which I doubt) I would have met you for the margarita. IAH is more than an hour away from me, two hours in traffic.
