fringe friday fellowship moms edition

I’m not really into labeling, and I stay away as far from the process as possible.

I like being undefined, and I admit to being a little irritated during my 31DBBB adventure when the main criticism of my space became that it wasn’t defined enough. I don’t need themes or identifiers or much else to make my readers feel welcome and comfortable. You’re either here or you’re not. It’s that simple.

But here we are at a fringe friday fellowship for moms. It’s more of a grouping than a label, I guess. I’ve got this Chevy Moms thing going on, plus I love love love Friday mornings when I know Galit at Twin Cities Jewfolk has a post published about her hubby Jason and her three adorable kids. I’m enthusiastically learning about her traditions, and now I totally want a weekly shabbat in our household. The only thing holding us back is my inability to stick to a routine.

I’ve met in person three other Chevy moms since this all started. Cammie drove our Malibu in June, and we met her at the hand-over at the dealership last week. She also attended the Great Day Houston taping, and took great care of Jordan and Jon Alex while sitting with them in the audience. We’ve named our Malibu after her and I apologize profusely for the ground-in potato chips in her back seat carpeting. You can find Cammie at Moms Material.

Rachel and Dana are the other two July Houston Chevy Moms. I’m not sure why the producers of Great Day Houston kept mixing up their names. They look nothing alike, plus Dana looks like a Dana and Rachel looks like a Rachel. Somehow, Rachel ended up with a sunroof and rear entertainment system on her Malibu while Dana and I are left being content with our custom white diamond paint job. Fun tidbit: Dana was on an episode of Wife Swap, which her husband refuses to discuss in polite company.

The other women bloggers in my periphery who happen to have a kid or two and a halfway recent blog post:

Fighting over cloth or disposable organic Cheetos in comments…

Cloth Cheetos all the way! A reusable Cheeto would be easier on the budget and always there at 1 A.M.

All that Cheeto dust buildup in the sink would drive me crazy. I’d rather toss them away with my money, I guess.

We’ll be there in spirit! The baby can tear up your heirlooms over the phone. He’s that talented…
