Some quick updates for you, none to its conclusion. You know how I am:

  1. During personal quasi-crises, I hate the grocery store and other big box spaces. So, although I’d love a bottle of Firefly Sweet Tea vodka right about now, I am sticking with my Mike’s six packs simply because the Mike’s is a quick run inside the gas station instead of a terrifying meander through the liquor mart. (In Texas, hard liquor isn’t sold at drug stores or gas stations or anywhere else that makes sense)
  2. Jordan is all registered for high school. Fish Camp is tomorrow and parents are supposed to drop off the kids for a four-hour freshman orientation and I don’t effing think so. Fish Camp is tomorrow for Mommy, too, don’t you judge me.
  3. Jon Alex’s first football game is Saturday, but we are most excited about the Friday pep rally with the cheerleaders and the game jersey presentation to all the players. My camera is in a box in the garage where it’s been roasting for more than a week. Pray with me that it still works.
  4. I’ve had two job interviews. One for a part-time job that I’m very excited about, the other for a full-time, hopefully telecommuting job that I’m fairly excited about. The part-time one I got and orientation looms. The other gig—technical editor—sounds like it could be seven rounds of interviews before they make a decision. I’m optimistic, though. We’ll see.
  5. Ehren is still in north Texas with his daddy. I know it’s been a while since I’ve mentioned him. It’s hard for me to write about him; I miss him so much. He’s in wonderful, caring hands. I just wish I could kiss him goodnight.
  6. My current plan is for fantasy football to take over my life much in the same way as fantasy baseball. I think I’m having so much fun because it’s something Q and I can do together while we’re apart. That will likely, ultimately be discovered as the corniest line I’ve ever written.
  7. My team name is the Texas Chute Sliders in honor of Jet Blue’s favorite flight attendant Steven Slater. I thought I’d quit a few jobs with flair. Nothing compares.
  8. I completely enjoyed the Coen brothers’  Burn After Reading, but the scenes with Brad Pitt jarred me out of the movie, and that never happens with me and Mr Pitt. He was, however, to me, unbelievable as a goofy gay gym rat.
  9. August is nearly half over, and we have yet to start school and attend the Little League World Series. I plan to use September for a series of naps.

It’s all about you now. In comments…

To answer the titular question, I think that you’re frickin’ awesome.

I should probably look up the meaning of the word titular before saying thanks, but I trust you. :)

Very and fairly excited sound promising. Much luck to you!

I live in Pennsylvania, where beer and liquor aren’t readily available (but, go figure, crack and church are on every corner). We have to go to beer distributors and state stores for ours. I think that’s why I don’t drink very often…it’s too inconvenient.

    Fishing, football, back-to-school…sounds glorious!
Sending healing-techy vibes to your camera.

Going now to google how your state handles its liquor. I thought Texas was bad. I like how in California you can pick up a fifth of vodka in the day care drop off line on your way to work.

We can’t even buy beer and wine at gas stations here. Sometimes at grocery stores, but all the good stuff is at the liquor store.

I am kicking ass with my show. And I really wish there was someone like you who lived next door to pour me a cup of coffee and remind me that I have feet.

    Needing hugs more than ever!
    xoxo voix.

You don’t need feet, girlfriend. Strap on those wings and fly like the sold-out show diva you are to the next level. Coffee I’ll give you. A lesson in grounding yourself? You’ve come to the wrong friend. Congratulations on your success!

Yesterday HE was served with my divorce complaint and summons. Since HE wouldn’t meet to talk to me over the last 6weeks or sohad no idea it was on its way.

There went any hopes of proceeding amicably and civilly.

*sigh* I could really use a drink.

Debb, now would be a good time to start a new hobby, like embroidery or long-distance running. Good luck.
