Jordan will be the girl in the pink baseball cap

Set your DVRs for ABC World News with Diane Sawyer tonight at 6:30 EDT. Jordan’s baseball team will be featured as the Person of the Week.

The camera crew was at practice yesterday for about an hour, and I’m very interested to see how the footage will be edited. I’m not a regular viewer of broadcast TV. Is the Person of the Week segment  more than five seconds long? We’ll find out. Hopefully, there will also be a Web link for those of you not glued to your television sets waiting for Matlock.

[UPDATE: Jordan's segment wasn't brodcast on Friday. We got bumped (?) for a Iraq war vet profile. Maybe tomorrow. Stay tuned for a video link.]

As of Wednesday, I was officially re-unemployed. I feel quite free in my brokeness, and I have no idea why. I’m not panicking or anything like that. Shouldn’t I be? I should be. I’m not. On TV, that piece of serenity means somebody is about to die.

Ehren is home! For one week. I’m extremely fortunate that his daddy loves taking care of him and that I have absolutely while they are together. So the baby returns to north Texas the day before Jordan and I leave for Williamsport and he’ll stay for the NFL season.

Why the NFL season, you ask?

Because I got a job with the Houston Texans! I’ll be working on game days and since hiring a babysitter for a part-time job would cut into my profit sliver: to the Q-mobile! That way, Jordan and Jon Alex can find their own Sunday activities, and I won’t have to worry about the baby. I’ve always always always wanted to work for the Texans or any other Houston sports organization. Thinking, hoping, praying the Ehren sacrifice will be worth it. Q has built an addition onto his house to hold all of Ehren’s NoTex toys, so it all works out.

I missed him so much. I’ve been kissing him all day between baseball media events and . He is now calling me “mama” instead of “blank stare”. He dances upon request, holds up one finger when asked how old he is, and gives a delightful high five. He’ll be 18 months old next month, can you believe it? Still, it cracks me up to realize at 42, I have a baby I’ll be chasing after at 45. I should be winding down, looking forward to grandmahood, but instead I’ll be interviewing kindergarten teachers. Heh. And oy.

Your Friday media events in comments…
